Pawning gold for the capital to sell chips, Ali XPDC was thankfully given a second chance
XPDC group vocalist, Ali is grateful to be given a second chance to continue living at this time.
Having had a stroke and fell asleep due to difficulty breathing due to heart and lung problems before, Ali or his real name is Mohd Ali Ismail, 54, is becoming more stable.
“Alhamdulillah, I feel like I have lost my words given the blessings of this life. I used to be at the 50/50 percentage level to live.
“Like the lives of fish back then. God drew the favor of the voice assets I had, but presented a lot of wisdom.
“But now my condition is getting better. It used to be difficult to talk. Now I can talk even if it’s not smooth.
“If it is very difficult to talk, it is the wife who is the representative (speaking).
“Until now, I still continue my physiotherapy and ‘rehab’ once a week at the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital.
“The movement and cost of commuting to the hospital can also be saved a little bit because I have moved to rent an apartment in Seri Kembangan since the beginning of Ramadan.
“I used to live in Klang, I used a lot of money,” Ali told a media representative who visited his residence recently.
Ali added that he was grateful when he lost his source of livelihood, many people came to help him and his family.
“The cost of treatment at the Ampang Hospital for three weeks was RM12,000 borne by Baitulmal. Similarly, the house rent of RM850 was also assisted by the body.
“Even the new rented house is rented by Baitulmal at RM800. We only pay RM50,” said Ali.
However, since the beginning of Ramadan, Ali refused to continue to hug his body instead of trying to start a business selling chips and traditional cakes.
“My son suggested that I not continue to accept people’s donations, so they suggested to run a business. Finally, a friend suggested that I sell chips and cakes that he makes.
“We do business at the Pekan Sungai Besi site. My friend also manages the site without me having to pay the rent.
“It’s just time to start the business, the savings are covered with jewelery pawned by the wife as capital. As a result, I was able to collect RM8,000 as capital.
“Currently, my three children including the eldest son take turns looking after the stall as I am not yet strong enough to take care of it alone.
“The proceeds from this sale can cover my family’s life.
“In fact, sales have reached RM300 a day,” said Ali, adding that representatives of the XPDC fan club also came to the house and advertised the business he was running.
Earlier, Ali and his wife, Sharifah Azuwanna Syed Joned, received a visit from the Buletin FM radio station together with the Managing Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin), Datuk Wira Dr Ameer Ali Mydin.
They received donations and vouchers of RM300 a month for a period of one year to buy kitchen essentials at the shopping premises.
