PAS protested the launch of the ‘Thai Hot Guy’ invitation bar.
KUALA LUMPUR: PAS expressed regret and objected strongly to the organization of the official opening event of a bar known as ‘Privacy Club Tun Razak’ in Jalan Tun Razak, the capital, on March 30.
According to its Secretary General, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, based on information about it on social media site Facebook, the official opening will be presented by a group of burly male waiters from Thailand dressed in women known as ‘Thai Hot Guy’ as the main attraction.
“This is outrageous, insensitive, immoral, even disgusting, Takiyuddin said, the event promotes hedonistic culture, porn and free sex.
“In fact, it was also accompanied by pictures of the group’s eye-popping action with regard to visitors openly,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
Accordingly, Takiyuddin urged the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to reconsider the permission to organize the event.
This is because, he said, the event is clearly against the local culture and is not sensitive to the position of Islam as the Federal religion, let alone being held in the month of Ramadan.
“In addition, it also does not support the nation’s ambition to create a society that is moral, has noble character, is sensitive and contributes to common well-being.
“Individual or economic freedom cannot at all be used as a reason to justify or do acts and negative tendencies like this.
“Surely all parties have a civic responsibility to ensure that our society is not exposed to a destructive and unconstructive culture like this,” he said.
Takiyuddin also expressed regret when the name of the former Prime Minister, the late Tun Abdul Razak, was allowed to be used as the name of a bar.
He said that the act was neither sensitive nor responsible, and even insulted the good name of the country’s leader.
“The company registration agency also needs to be more careful in this regard and not arbitrarily allow individuals or companies to register their business names without considering factors such as appropriateness and propriety,” he explained.
A new bar in Kuala Lumpur previously posted their launch poster on social media using Thai model Hot Guy who was the poster’s invited guest.
The action angered the public who criticized the action forcing the organizers to close their comment section on Facebook.
