Ovation Guitars introduces the 2023 Celebrity Blackwood Limited Edition
Ovation presents its 2023 Celebrity Limited Edition with rare and desirable Australian Blackwood as the top. Known for its eye-catching grain and excellent sound characteristics, this exceptional wood is usually reserved for exclusive and expensive instruments. However, Ovation is especially pleased to be able to offer this fine wood with the models CS24P-ABLKW and CE-44P- ABLKW-G at the Celebrity price in a version with Center or Multi Soundhole equipment.
Blackwood, from the Australian Outback, has an even grain that gives the guitars a fine overall appearance in combination with the Black Burst finish. The neck is made of nato wood, the fingerboard is made of Ovangkol. Abalone dots are used for the fingerboard markings, and the Center Soundhole of the CS24P-ABLKW is decorated by an abalone rosette.
The popular Mid-Depth Lyrachord body provides a full and balanced unplugged sound. The Ovation CP-100 slimline pickup and the OP-4CT preamp are responsible for the electroacoustic sound. The Ovation Slimline Pickup stands out in comparison to the Ovation original pickup (OCP-1K) due to its particularly narrow design. Also, a special feature of this pickup is the notched bridge insert, whose special design makes the pressure points and thus the vibration transmission to the piezo elements more precise, thereby optimizing the tone of each individual string and promoting a uniform sound image. Before the signal leaves the guitar, it is further refined by an Ovation OP-4CT preamp with 3-band EQ and built-in tuner.
Guitar building is always the art of balancing optimal vibration transmission, lightness and stability. The special Ovation Scalloped X-Bracing, gives stability at low weight of the top but also the necessary space to vibrate well and produce an appealing sound.
