Norjuma declared bankrupt, arrest warrant continued

GEORGE TOWN: The High Court here today declared celebrity entrepreneur Norjuma Habib Mohamed bankrupt after failing to repay a RM260,400 debt to Fame Up Entertainment Company.

Deputy Registrar Siti Zulaikha Nordin delivered the decision, after hearing the creditors’ petition filed by the Company through lawyer Muhammad Hassanuddin Roslan in October last year.

Based on the creditors’ bankruptcy petition, Fame Up Entertainment applied for a bankruptcy order against Norjuma as a debtor for failing to pay RM260,400 after being ordered by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Oct 12, 2021.

“Today is the hearing date for the creditor’s petition, but Norjuma failed to appear three times, and the Court ruled (Noorjuma) bankrupt after she failed to repay the payment for the creditor’s petition,” said Hassanuddin when met outside the court here today.

He said the arrest warrants issued by the Kuala Lumpur Court and the Shah Alam Court last year will continue.

Hassanuddin also hopes that Norjuma will stop issuing any incorrect statements after the High Court’s decision today.

Also present in court was the owner of Fame Up Entertainment, Zuriawati Zaidi, 44.

In 2019 and 2020, Fame Up Entertainment filed two defamation suits against Norjuma related to the spread of defamation allegedly committed by the entrepreneur.
