Noh Omar, Zuraida, Jamal Abdillah, Ridhuan Tee among the 30 Members of the Supreme Council of MN
KUALA LUMPUR: Former Tanjong Karang Member of Parliament, Tan Sri Noh Omar; former Member of Parliament for Ampang, Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin and former Member of Parliament for Alor Gajah, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof were elected as Members of the National Muafakat (MN) Supreme Council.
Not to be left out is the country’s famous artist, Datuk Jamal Abdillah and two famous actresses, Datuk Seri Eizlan Yusof and Ummi Nazeera are also listed as members of the Supreme Council of MN.
Announcing the matter, the President of the NGO MN, Tan Sri Annuar Musa, said that the organization also listed two academics, namely constitutional expert, Associate Professor Shamrahayu A Aziz and famous preacher, Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah.
According to him, all of them are among the 30 personalities of the Supreme Council of MN.
In addition, Annuar said, Central Passport Committee member Dr Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki and activist Ms Izzat Johari were also listed.
Among other names, are, Edmund Santhara, Yahya Ibrahim, Wan Azman Wan Sulaiman, Khairuddin Abdu Hassan, Sofian Ibrahim, Aziz Ibrahim, Zaini Mohamad, Farah Umaira Paruwis, lila Ruzaini Hussain, Faezah Abd Rahman Ali Nor Ahlam, Jasper Supah, Dr Junaidy , Budiman Zohdi, Zurihan Yusof, Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, Azam Ismail, Chua Hock Kuan and Subash Chandrabose.
According to Annuar, PAS Secretary General, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, former Member of Parliament for Bachok, Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz and former Member of Parliament for Kuala Nerus, Datuk Khairuddin Aman Razali are also registered as members.
In MN’s inaugural press conference in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, Annuar informed that since registration opened last week, MN had received almost 20,000 applications as of yesterday.
Although the response is seen as encouraging, Annuar insists that MN will not enter the political arena and will remain a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
Meanwhile, Annuar said, the movement also received the support of former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad
“I met him yesterday. I can say Tun Dr Mahathir gives strong support to MN.
“Tun Dr Mahathir also expressed his concern about the position of the Malays and said that efforts for the good of the country and the Malays, he will support,” he said.
