New format! Big Stage 2023 will be different from the others

KUALA LUMPUR: After crowning Elica Paujin as the champion last year, the popular reality show Big Stage with the slogan BBNU Domination is back for the fifth season.

According to Astro Ria Channel Manager, Idlan Zahari, many reforms have been implemented for this season from the host, judges and concepts have all been changed.

More interesting this time, the Big Stage not only features solo singers but also duo and group participants.

“The right word is innovation, this renewal was made after we looked at the data and feedback from the Big Stage fans.

“This time we want to focus more on young people who are interested in music and there will definitely be more surprises that we will bring for this season,” he said.

He added that, in preparation, all the contestants this time attended a boot camp to prepare themselves for the challenge on the singing stage.

Among the contestants lining the Big Stage this season are Meernash, Nadeera, Coex, Dem Lepak Boyz and Firdaus Rahmat.

At the same time, Astro also informed that four more participants from Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore and Korea will be introduced at the first concert on May 7.

Host and actress, Elly Mazlien was mandated as the host of Big Stage 2023 and Aina Abdul was appointed as a regular judge of Big Stage for the latest season.

Big Stage 2023 will be broadcast live for ten weeks at the Shah Alam City Council Auditorium (MBSA) every Sunday, at 9pm from 7 May 2023.

The ‘Big Stage’ competition has crowned four champions throughout its organization consisting of Sarah Suhairi (2018), South Korean star Hanbyul (2019), Azzam Sham (2020) and Elica Paujin (2022).
