Neumann RIME Transforms Headphone Mixing with Binaural Spatial Accuracy
GERMANY, 25 April 2025 – Audio professionals can now mix immersive audio with greater flexibility thanks to Neumann’s latest innovation, RIME, a new software plug-in tailored exclusively for Neumann headphones.
Designed for Dolby Atmos and similar formats, RIME replicates a high-end studio environment in binaural form, providing realistic 3D audio without physical speaker setups.
“More creators are working remotely, and immersive audio is increasingly standard,” said Yasmine Riechers, CEO of Neumann. “RIME bridges the gap between precision monitoring and portability, making immersive mixing more accessible than ever.”

Built around a premium control room with Neumann KH monitors, MA 1 calibration, and KU 100 head mic capture, RIME’s accuracy extends from studio-grade loudspeakers to NDH 20 and NDH 30 headphones. The software supports OSC-enabled head tracking and provides a loudspeaker-like stereo experience to enhance translation of mixes across playback systems.

Unlike other solutions, RIME offers a fixed, optimized acoustic environment—eliminating the guesswork of virtual rooms. “This is not a model—it’s a real space, accurately reproduced,” noted Product Manager Jorma Marquardt.
RIME is now available for EUR 99, compatible with Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Reaper, and other leading DAWs.
