National Women’s Day: Listen to women’s voices – Permaisuri Agong

KUALA LUMPUR: Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah today urged everyone to listen to the voices of women who fight for their rights.

Her Majesty said she would personally continue to support any movement that fights for women’s rights, both at the local and international level.

“This is all about women’s empowerment and gender equality. It is important to listen to women fighting for their rights,” Her Majesty said at the National Women’s Day celebration here today.

Tunku Azizah also praised women for playing an important role in Malaysia, including as an important peacemaker to maintain peace and harmony in the country.

At the ceremony organized by the National Council of Malaysian Women’s Organizations (NCWO), Tunku Azizah also launched a book titled ‘Courage of NCWO Pioneers’ about the founders of NCWO.

The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob; Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun and Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
