Musical Legends Perform Together Live From Multiple Locations With JackTrip Labs

Master musicians who’ve played with ABBA, Elton John, and Earth, Wind & Fire keep it tight with JackTrip virtual collaboration technology in an upcoming live show co-sponsored by industry insider outlet EnterTalk

On July 27 at 2:00 PM PDT, JackTrip Labs and EnterTalk will partner to host a one-of-a-kind musical showcase jam-packed with industry legends and powered by JackTrip’s revolutionary Virtual Studio. Streaming on JackTrip Radio, it features seasoned Southern California players who’ve worked with such superstar acts as Earth, Wind & Fire, Elton John, and ABBA. They’ll perform live from multiple locations at once, demonstrating JackTrip’s groundbreaking real-time musical collaboration technology.

Participating in the show remotely will be Larry Dunn (Earth, Wind & Fire), Charles Julian Fearing (Ray Parker, Jr., Tina Turner, Lionel Richie), Bunny Brunel (Chick Corea, Tony Williams), and Hilliard Wilson (The Manhattans, Prince). Using JackTrip’s high-speed, low-latency tools, they’ll connect with Rebecca Jade (Sheila E., Elton John) and Roger Friend (Tom Jones, B.B. King, ABBA) in JackTrip Virtual Studio for a hybrid experience that will further show how JackTrip is totally reshaping the landscape of musical collaboration.

”I’m looking forward to performing with the other great talents on July 27th all from my studio! This is an absolutely amazing development in audio technology, from a rehearsal and collaboration standpoint,” enthuses Dunn, a driving force behind this event. “To be able to have credible sessions with musicians as far as 500 miles away is awesome!”

Fresh from a NAMM demo in which Grammy winner and virtual choir pioneer Eric Whitacre led virtual singers in a new performance of his piece “Sing Gently,” the minds behind JackTrip continues to prove that find success as their software impresses more and more seasoned musical professionals can make amazing grooves together, no matter how far flung they are. Using a cloud-based platform, JackTrip allows musicians to perform in near-perfect sync from miles apart. In the JackTrip Virtual Studio, jams never sacrifice the feeling of being truly together.

For multiple Grammy- and Emmy-winning drummer Roger Friend, audio fidelity is crucial. He admits that at first, JackTrip’s technology seemed too good to be true. “I was skeptical,” he says. “I’m so critical about every sixteenth note being so precise.” With over four decades of work teaching and touring the world with acts as major as ABBA and B.B. King, it’s safe to say Friend’s standards are high. Fortunately, JackTrip’s commitment to seamless musical experiences more than met those expectations. “It was so tight and so much fun. I was blown away.”

Virtual technology has grown leaps and bounds in the last few years, but the JackTrip team has been working on their tech for two decades–and it shows. Their dual focus on sound quality and speed means musicians who can’t be in the exact same place can still come together, forging connections that once seemed impossible.

“[JackTrip] brings everyone closer together,” adds Charles Julian Fearing. “There are opportunities for live concerts, for education. There are a lot of people in the virtual technology race, but JackTrip separates from the pack. You win if it’s done right.”

Virtual performances no longer have to feel like long-distance events with the help of JackTrip. This star-studded upcoming event shows that firsthand. “Just the quality of the event rehearsal really blew me away,” gushes JackTrip CEO Mike Dickey. “I really wanted to share this with as many people as possible.”

This joint event between JackTrip and industry insider outlet EnterTalk is more than just a show. It’s a sign of possibilities to come. “I love the idea that we can lower the bar for musicians that are rehearsing together,” Dickey continues. “I think there’s a lot of people out there that would love to be able to participate in a session like that.” The session on July 27 will be broadcast live on JackTrip Radio and will stand as proof positive of endless future opportunities.
