Michelle Yeoh was moved being congrat from YDP Agong and Queen

Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh shared her joy and excitement in a post on her personal Instagram account today.

KUALA LUMPUR: The news of Malaysian-born actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh winning the trophy for Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, United States (US), yesterday continued to be celebrated on various social media platforms.

In fact, congratulations to Yeoh, who set a proud record as the first Malaysian to receive the recognition, also continued to be received by him.

Accordingly, Yeoh, 60, shared his joy and excitement in a post on his personal Instagram account, today.

In the message, the actress born in Ipoh, Perak expressed his infinite appreciation to all parties who sent her congratulations and words of motivation, especially message expressed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and The Queen Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandaria.

Yeoh said, the opportunity for her to be in the position she is today was the starting point at the beginning of her art career.

Thus, said the world-famous actor, the love, support and valuable knowledge poured out and shared by everyone who accompanied his artistic career journey is greatly appreciated.

“Thank you for the messages sent and I am still replying,” Yeoh wrote again.

At the Golden Globe Awards held in the US yesterday, Yeoh won Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy for the film Everything Everywhere All At Once in which she starred.

The actress killed other hopefuls including Lesley Manville through Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, Margot Robbie (Babylon), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Menu) and Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande).

In the film, she played the role of Evelyn Wang, a Chinese immigrant who failed in the laundry business.

Yeoh, who started her acting career in Hollywood around 40 years ago, has starred in more than 70 international films.

Among her plays in Hollywood-published films are James Bond, Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997 followed by other works such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of Geisha, The Lady, Crazy Rich Asians and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Last year, the leading international magazine, Time announced Yeoh as Icon of the Year 2022 thus recognizing his great contribution to the film industry.

In fact, in August 2022, Yeoh became the first Asian artist to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in fine arts from the American Film Institute (AFI), Los Angeles, US.
