Michelle Yeoh returned to Malaysia, will meet fans on April 18
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian-born Hollywood actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh who is also the winner of the 95th Oscar will return to Malaysia to meet her fans in two weeks.
It is understood that Yeoh will meet his fans at a red carpet event at Center Court, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on April 18 at 5.30pm.
The friendly session is open to the public and no advance registration is required.
Meanwhile, Yeoh is also scheduled to attend a closed dinner concert on the same night to celebrate her mother’s birthday, Datin Janet Yeoh.
The 60-year-old actress made history last month after becoming the first Malaysian and Asian star to win the Best Actress trophy at the 95th Academy Awards (Oscars) held at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, United States (US).
Yeoh won through his role as Evelyn Quan Wang in the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Through the 95th Oscar, Yeoh beat four other great candidates namely Andrea Riseborough who starred in the movie To Leslie ; Cate Blanchett ( Tar ); Michelle Williams ( The Fabelmans ) and Ana de Armas ( Blonde ).
On stage while receiving the trophy, Yeoh dedicated her historic victory to her mother Datin Janet Yeoh.
“She’s 84 years old and I’m going to bring this home to her,” she said.
Before winning the Oscar, Yeoh won the Best Actress in a Musical/Comedy trophy at the Golden Globe Awards.
Meanwhile, she also became the first Asian actress to win the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards in February for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Leading Role category.
