Michael Jackson’s brother Tito passes away
Tito Jackson, a member of the Jackson 5 and brother of the King of Pop Michael Jackson, has died at the age of 70.
The late singer’s death was confirmed by his children, TJ, Taj, and Taryll Jackson, via a statement on social media.
Tito, who was born on October 15, 1953 in Gary, Indiana, was the third of nine Jackson siblings.
He and his brothers formed the famous Jackson 5 group in the 1970s with hit songs such as ABC and I Want You Back.
This sad news was confirmed by his children, TJ, Taj, and Taryll Jackson, in a statement on social media on Sunday night.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, has left us.
“We are very shocked, saddened, and deeply saddened. Our father was an amazing person who cared about everyone and their well-being,” Tito’s family members wrote in a statement.
Tito, who is the third of nine Jackson siblings, was born on October 15, 1953 in Gary, Indiana.
The deceased is the brother of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Tito along with his brothers — Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael — formed the Jackson 5 group which became a global phenomenon in the 1970s with hits such as “ABC”, “I Want You Back”, and “I ‘ll Be There”.
Tito is also known as a talented guitarist and is often a backing singer in the group.
After the success of the Jackson 5, he continued his solo career and his children formed the R&B group, 3T.
Tito’s death is a great loss to the music world, especially to Jackson 5 fans who still remember the group’s great contribution to the music industry.
A funeral service will be held in the near future and the Jackson family asks that their privacy be respected during this period of mourning.
