Melly Goeslaw and husband pay visit to P. Ramlee and Saloma’s grave.
Indonesian music celebrity, Melly Goeslaw with her husband, Anto Hoed were seen spending about half an hour visiting the graves of the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee and the late Saloma at the Jalan Ampang Islamic Cemetery, Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
Melly, 48, said that the desire to visit the tomb of the Great Artist, whom she greatly admires, had been hidden for a long time, but only came true during her visit to Kuala Lumpur this time.
Saying that she first fell in love with P.Ramlee’s work when she was present to promote the song Jika duet with Ari Lasso more than 20 years ago, Melly described the proud figure of the homeland as a genius.
“Actually, I haven’t come to Malaysia for a long time, but when I was there to promote the song Jika here, I fell in love with P. Ramlee’s work.
“Every day I listen to P.Ramlee’s songs because I really admire his work which is always fresh.
“P.Ramlee is a genius. His songs are timeless and should be learned and become a reference for young musicians.
“So when Iman Tang proposed to do a concert here, the first thing that came to my mind was wanting to visit the graves of P. Ramlee and Saloma.
“I want to pay tribute and always admire the work of the genius of P.Ramlee,” said Melly who was found at the Jalan Ampang Islamic Cemetery .
In addition to visiting with Anto, the great figure couple was also accompanied by Saloma’s grandson, Eddie.
