Mechamato promotes Malaysian culture, in cinemas from December 8

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news for fans of the popular animation Mechamato!

This film will be shown in cinemas all over the country, including Brunei, starting December 8.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Animonsta Studios (Monsta), Nizam Abdul Razak, the 3D animation film Mechamato is a copy of a local work that is loaded with culture in Malaysia.

“This is Monsta’s ambition to empower culture and places in Malaysia.

“In this film, the audience will be exposed to the architecture of Bandar Hilir and Kota Melaka.

“The audience will also be presented with a silat performance including traditional elements such as destar, keris, tricycle, and traditional food such as currypap.

“I believe our culture can be lifted to the global level through this animated film,” he said.

As the director and writer of Mechamato, Nizam has high hopes that the Malaysian audience will give full support to this film.

Nizam also set a ticket sales target of RM30 million.

“This film will soon be shown abroad in 2023.

“This is because Mechamato has achieved extraordinary success after penetrating 65 countries around the world since December 2021.

“There are many lessons that the audience can witness through this film, including believing in one’s own abilities, the courage to try and strive without giving up easily,” he said when met at the Gala Night held at GSC Mid Valley, here.

Mechamato produced by Monsta and Astro Shaw will be shown in 150 cinemas in Malaysia and the first official trailer was uploaded on Monsta’s YouTube channel on 1 January 2021.

Special good news for loyal Astro customers! You can get free tickets on the TGV starting this December by participating in a contest organized by Astro Rewards on the My Astro application.
