KUALA LUMPUR: The latest MEASAT-3d satellite was successfully launched in Kourou, French Guiana early this morning which will pave the way for efforts to improve the existing system.
It was launched at 6.50 pm local time (5.50 am Malaysian time).

The success will be able to increase the reliability of internet usage, the number of users and network stability in rural areas.

The latest MEASAT-3d satellite was built by the aerospace company, Airbus which was given a period of several weeks to complete before being handed over to MEASAT management.

Most importantly, this is a big mission for MEASAT to launch a satellite that will bridge the digital divide with high -speed internet through the CONNECTme NOW service.

Meanwhile, MEASAT successfully launched its MEASAT-3d satellite today, 22 June 2022 at 6:03 pm (French Guiana Time) from the European Space Agency launch site in Kourou, French Guiana, equivalent to 5:03 am, 23 June 2022 in Malaysia. The launch was witnessed by a group of senior Malaysian government officials, senior private sector executives and MEASAT business partners.

With the unparalleled recovery of redundancy in orbit through MEASAT-3d, Astro will be able to further strengthen its expansion capacity, enabling it to add even more 4K content and further 8K content to every home in Malaysia.
