Mawi denies a troubled marriage with Ekin
SINGER and radio presenter Mawi appeared to deny allegations by some quarters that his relationship with Ekin’s wife was falling apart.
According to Mawi or real name Asmawi Ani, 41, the issue arose following Ekin’s absence during the launch of the film Hantu Kuat Ketawa which took place in the capital recently.
“When we held the press conference for the film Hantu Kuat Ketawa , my wife could not attend for some reason. It was Ekin’s time in Johor Bahru. Mawi explained that all that was not true and Ekin’s absence at the event was not because they had a fight.
“It’s not because we’re fighting and so on,” he said.
He added that he hoped the issue would not be prolonged.

Ekin previously admitted to experiencing stress and mental breakdown when asked questions about their household.

Ekin or real name Nora’Asikin Rahmat was married to Mawi on December 20, 2008 and they were blessed with a child named Cahaya Malaika, 10 years old.
