Maulidur Rasul: Give a bigger role to the youth – Sultan Nazrin

IPOH: The ummah development movement needs to be given a new lease of life with contemporary values through fresher, more strategic efforts, full of vision and in line with the current of rapid change and progress.

The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah said, it has become a sunnah, the old one needs to be renewed so that the current needs and wants can be met.

Accordingly, His Majesty said, the youth need to be trusted to be at the forefront, inject new dynamism, play a significant role as a catalyst for reform (game changer).

“We need to have the courage to bequeath greater responsibility to young people, so that young people, have the opportunity to play a more active and effective role, translate idealism into reality, have the compass of a mind that thirsts for renewal, enrich intellectual thinking with analytical power, critical power, creative power and innovative power , highlighting a different perspective in solving problems through engineering and rethinking old methods that are becoming obsolete,” said his Majesty.

His Majesty spoke at the Maulidur Rasul 1444 Hijrah celebration at the state level of Perak at the Banquet Hall, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan in Ipoh, on Sunday.

His Majesty said, Rasulullah SAW is the best example in guiding the youth to always obey Allah, be a leader, love the country, have noble character, take care of mental health, be physically clean in all aspects that lead to perfection.

His Majesty said, Rasulullah SAW has placed the youth in a special position and guided and patterned them to be responsible for religion, nation and country.

He gave examples of some names such as Sayidina Abu Bakar embraced Islam when he was 38 years old and Sayidina Umar al-Khattab embraced Islam when he was 28 years old.

In fact, His Majesty said, some of them were given important responsibilities such as Itab bin Usaid who was appointed to be the leader of the city of Mecca when he was 21 years old and Usamah bin Zaid was appointed to lead the army to oppose the Roman Government in Sham when he was 18 years old.

At the behest of Sultan Nazrin, many young people under the age of 30 became early followers of the Prophet Muhammad and were in the front line, persistently fighting for Islamic preaching, carrying Islamic banners, acting as commanders to lead the Muslims.
