
‘Mat Kilau’ finally made an appearance in Jakarta
KUALA LUMPUR: The main actor of the film ‘Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan’, Datuk Adi Putra made an appearance at the premiere of the Malay film in Indonesia, after previously being reported to have refused to attend.
Through a post on Instagram, Adi or real name Mohamed Hadi Putera Halim, was seen present with actor Johan As’ari at the gala night, which took place in Jakarta on Friday.
However, Adi, 41 years old, who previously expressed disappointment with the film’s production company, Studio Kembara Sdn Bhd, announced their presence at the invitation of several other parties.
“Thank you to CBI Pictures Indonesia, Yayan Ruhian (actor) and Finas (National Film Development Corporation) for inviting me and Johan to the Mat Kilau Film Gala Night: Heroes Awakening in Jakarta,” he said in the entry.
Meanwhile, in another post uploaded by Adi, also appearing at the screening was its director, Syamsul Yusof and the main cast of the film Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan which is Fattah Amin who played the role of Awang and Ali Karimi (Brahim).
However, Beto Kusyairy who played the role of Wahid is understood not to be present at the event.
Citing media reports, Beto or his real name Nur Kusyairy Zakuan said he could not participate because he was tied up with other commitments.
The movie Mat Kilau: Rise of the Heroes is expected to be shown in 200 cinemas in Indonesia starting this August 31.
