MASwings offers an additional ‘Jom Balik Undi’ promotion for Sabah, Sarawak voters
KOTA KINABALU: To encourage people to return home to vote, MASwings is offering cheap one-way tickets starting from as low as RM135 under the “Let’s Vote” campaign promotion until November 30 starting today.
According to the Chief Operating Officer of MASwings, Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, said the campaign was held to help voters, especially in Sabah and Sarawak, return to their respective states to cast their ballots on November 19.
“As the ‘Heart of Borneo’, we are committed to providing safe and reliable air transport to support and assist GE15 operations.
“In that regard, we urge local voters to return to their hometowns to allow them to become Malaysian citizens,” he said.
Anticipating the growing demand for MASwings services, the airline also increased the frequency of flights on several identified air routes in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan on November 18 until November 21.
“MASwings will also increase the frequency of flights to accommodate the surge in demand that is expected to involve several routes in Sabah, Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
“The frequency of flights will be increased from 21 times a week to 28 times a week involving the Miri – Labuan, Miri – Sibu, Kota Kinabalu – Lahad Datu, and Kota Kinabalu – Labuan routes from November 18 to 21,” according to the statement released.
For the Kuching – Limbang route, MASwings flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays will be increased to 2 flights per day on 18 and 20 November.
MASwings also advises voters who wish to get tickets to book immediately to avoid any difficulties in returning to the polling district, especially at the last minute.
