Malaysia Day: Malacca Panorama ready free bus for visitors

MELAKA: One-stop bus service provider Panorama Melaka is providing free buses to visitors to attend the Malaysia Day celebrations at the Declaration of Independence Memorial Square in Banda Hilir here this Friday.

Panorama Melaka General Manager Datuk Abu Bakar Abdul said as many as two shuttle buses will pass through the streets around Melaka Raya and Banda Hilir here from 5pm on Friday until 1am on Saturday.

He said each bus can accommodate about 30 passengers at a time and the frequency of movement is every 10 to 15 minutes.

“The shuttle bus provided is a white Malacca Panorama bus that will travel from Malacca Island and will travel around Melaka Raya and Banda Hilir.

“There is no specific stop set for passengers to board the bus, instead they can stop the bus on any road the vehicle takes to get to the Declaration of Independence Memorial Square,” he said at a press conference here today.

He said visitors were advised to park their vehicles in the free or paid car parking areas around the area and board the Melaka Panorama bus to the celebration site.

Abu Bakar said the provision of the shuttle bus is aimed at providing convenience to visitors who want to attend the celebration of Malaysia Day 2022 in addition to helping reduce traffic congestion in the Banda Hilir area.

He said the initiative was also one of Panorama Melaka’s commitments to provide free services in conjunction with the celebration of the historic day.

The celebration of Malaysia Day this time also featured uniqueness with a fashion theme from the 50s and 60s era chosen to celebrate the celebration.

About 20,000 visitors are expected to be present to enliven the celebration held for the first time in the peninsula.
