Malaysia Airlines, Firefly launch ‘Let’s Go Back to Vote’ campaign
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Bhd launched the ‘Let’s Vote Back’ campaign by offering 20 percent discount fares to help voters travel back to their villages, following the announcement of the 15th General Election (GE15).
Passengers can book tickets from today until Nov 19 for travel between Nov 11 and 27, the airline said in a statement.
A 20 percent discount is offered for all fare categories: Lite, Basic and Flex for Economy Class and Basic and Flex for Business Class.
Malaysia Airlines will also add 26 additional flights and operate 16 domestic flights with A330 aircraft to meet the growing demand on several routes in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
Meanwhile, Firefly Airlines will offer up to 70 additional flights from Subang and Penang to selected domestic routes from Nov 17 to 20, with discounted fares of 24 percent and 10 percent respectively for jet and ATR flights.
This promotion is available for bookings from today until 24 Oct, for travel from 1 Nov to 30 June next year.
MASwings passengers from Miri to Mulu, Sandakan to Lahad Datu and Bintulu to Sibu, can book flights starting from RM135 for a one-way fare.

“Customers are encouraged to take advantage of this promotion and book their flights early, for the best deals on Malaysia Airlines, Firefly or MASwings,” said Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer, Captain Izham Ismail.
Earlier, the Election Commission (SPR) announced that early voting would be held on Nov 15, while polling day would be on Nov 19.
