Malala Yousafzai came to the Oscars for the first time, Ralph Lauren’s scarf became the focus

The prestigious award, the 95th Academy Awards which took place at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles recently saw the focus not only on the winners, but also on the guests who ‘walked’ on the red carpet.

As a tradition, in addition to announcing the winners, the fashion or appearance of the guests also attracted attention.

One of the guests who attracted media attention was the presence of a figure named Malala Yousafzai. Malala, who is quite iconic as a Nobel laureate and an activist and advocate for women’s rights, was even present for the first time in the prestigious award.

The presence of the woman who was once shot in the head by the Taliban for fighting for the education rights of female students in Pakistan was considered different from the appearance of female celebrities who were present when wearing a dress complete with a scarf.

It is understood that the complete silver shawl dress that accentuated her appearance was produced by the famous fashion house, Ralph Lauren.

Yousafzai, 25, admitted to being excited to be given the opportunity to be at the Oscars.

“It’s like a dream, this is my first time here (Oscar). There are too many wonderful and attractive women present here that makes me not believe to be here as well,” she said as reported by thenationalnews.com.

She also added that she can’t wait to meet and see Rihanna’s performance.

“I don’t know what will happen after meeting or seeing Rihanna’s performance,” she said.

Yousafzai’s presence at the Oscars is on the ticket as Executive Producer of the Short Documentary, ‘Stranger at the Gate’. The documentary was nominated in the Best Documentary Oscar category.

“This work is a very powerful story about forgiveness and repentance. I feel very proud to be one of the driving forces behind this work,” she said.
