MAIWP Carnival 2023 is polite to the asnaf group, B40

The two-day carnival starting on Jan 28 will be held at Dataran Merdeka, here and is open to all parties regardless of race and religion.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Islamic Religious Council of the Federal Territory (MAIWP) will organize the MAIWP Carnival 2023 in January next year with the aim of entertaining the asnaf group and the B40 group as well as highlighting its function and role.

MAIWP chairman Tan Sri Mohd Daud Bakar said the theme of ‘Empowering and Empowering – Towards 50 Years of MAIWP Excellence’, the two-day carnival starting on January 28 will be held at Dataran Merdeka, here and open to all parties regardless of race and religion.

He said the carnival, which was held in collaboration with Naurah Care Malaysia, a non-governmental organization (NGO), was expected to be officiated by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Sharing about the filling of the carnival, Mohd Daud said that one of the highlights was the Walimatul Urus Perdana Majlis involving 100 brides and grooms from the asnaf group and converts who are expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“The award presentation of Asnaf Entrepreneur Icon and Asnaf MAIWP Education Icon, MAIWP Run which is a 3 km and 5 km running event will also be held,” he told reporters after the pre-launch ceremony of the MAIWP Carnival 2023 here today.

According to Mohd Daud, MAIWP will give a donation of RM2,000 to each of the brides-to-be for them to start life together as husband and wife and a wedding dress.

Elaborating further, he said the carnival is a new, modern, stylish program and narrative that gives impact and a new view of modern society to a religious agency.

Mohd Daud said his party was targeting 500,000 participants throughout the two-day carnival.
