M Daud Kilau critical, experiencing shortness of breath
TELUK INTAN: The country’s veteran artist, Datuk M Daud Kilau is reported to be in a critical condition after experiencing shortness of breath in the middle of Wednesday night.
The 84-year-old singer was sent to Teluk Intan Hospital around 12pm for treatment and is now in a semi-conscious state.
His son, Ahmad Zaini, 51, said that his father was still under close observation by doctors and had to use a breathing aid.
“The doctor informed the family that Dato (M Daud Kilau) is critical, with watery lungs.
“We as a family allowed the doctor to perform CPR (emergency respiratory support) and insert a tube to help her breathe,” he told reporters here on Thursday.
The singer, who was nicknamed the King of Malaysia, had undergone an angioplasty procedure at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur, two years ago.
Last June, when met by the media, the singer of the popular song Cek Mek Molek stated that he still wanted to entertain his fans, but had to be forgotten due to his health condition.
The last time he performed on stage was six years ago and after that he was no longer active although he still received invitations to perform.
