Live the philosophy of Ramadan to the best of your ability – Mufti of the Federal Territory
KUALA LUMPUR: The philosophy of Ramadan, among other things, teaches us to look at the less able and feel it through the worship of fasting.
The Mufti of the Federal Territory, Datuk Prof Madya Dr Luqman Abdullah explained, with the fasting worship it gives awareness and realization to feel together what others are feeling.
Dr. Luqman explained that fasting teaches a lot about social values and ethics in society.
“In a hadith, the Messenger of God said that anyone who feeds people who break their fast will be rewarded by Allah,” he said.
In this month of Ramadan as well, explained Dr Luqman, it provides an opportunity to spend more time with family and loved ones.
The momentum of worship that is performed in Ramadan can be done in other months in a way that is sincere to God.
“If we look at the philosophy of Ramadan itself to reach that level of piety, it means that we will be able to go through our lives in other months in the same way.
“We set ourselves up as servants of God who are pious in all aspects of life and this is what we can produce in this fasting because it teaches those aspects,” he said.
In the month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world will undergo fasting where it is a spiritual exercise for Muslims to face many challenging lives.
Fasting worship is a time to cleanse the sooty soul, the time to return to Him and be thankful for His wonderful generosity.
It is also a time to reflect on oneself and dissolve mistakes by fasting, pious practices and sincerity in the soul.
