Live Nation reveals ticket prices for Coldplay’s November concert
The British rock band are scheduled to take the stage at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on November 22
Kuala Lumpur will be the multi Grammy-winning band’s last stop on its hugely successful Music of the Spheres World Tour.
FOLLOWING the announcement just two days ago that anthemic British rockers Coldplay are coming to Malaysia as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, event organiser Live Nation Malaysia has revealed the ticket prices and seat map for the concert.
Set to take the big stage at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on November 22 – the band comprised of Chris Martin, drummer Will Champion, guitarist Jonny Buckland and bassist Guy Berryman – tickets range from the (eye-watering) Ultimate Experience at RM3,088 to Cat 7 at RM228.
According to Live Nation Malaysia, general ticket sales will open at 10am on May 17, at livenation.my.
There is a possibility of a second date to be announced as tickets are expected to be sold out within hours for the 85,000-capacity stadium.
Live Nation had reportedly been holding months-long negotiations to bring the band to Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur will be the multi Grammy-winning band’s last stop on its world tour, with preceding venues in Tokyo, Kaohsiung, Jakarta, and Perth.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the concert has received criticisms from certain quarters with PAS central working committee member Nasrudin Hassan advising the government to cancel Coldplay’s concert.
Nasrudin, a former parliamentarian, said Coldplay’s concert would promote “hedonistic and deviant values”.
The Music of the Spheres World Tour has so far garnered over US$400 million from 4.5 million ticket sales at 115 venues.
In support of their ninth studio album of the same title, the Music of the Spheres World Tour commenced on March 18, last year, in Costa Rica.
They have sold over 100 million albums worldwide and are regarded as among the few consistent musical artists who continuously churn out hit records and albums.
