Lata Mangeshkar was rushed to the ICU after being infected with COVID-19
Indian legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar was rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU), Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, last Saturday after being infected with the COVID-19 outbreak.
Citing a report by The Indian Express , the 92 -year -old singer initially had only mild symptoms but was placed under close monitoring due to his age.
“He will be closely monitored by the doctor on duty in the ICU,” said Dr. Pratit Samdani, the officer who took care of Mangeshkar.
Meanwhile, Mangeshkar’s family members were also informed to allow doctors to continue treating and monitoring his condition at the hospital.
“As a family member, we want the best for him and let him continue to be treated by specialists,” said one of Mangeshkar’s family members.
Started singing as early as 13, Mangeshkar has recorded over 30,000 songs in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali.
