KUPTM KL students will organize a cancer awareness run
STUDENTS in the sixth semester of the Diploma in Corporate Communication, Kuala Lumpur Poly-Tech University College MARA (KUPTM KL) will organize the DashHero Run 2022 running event for free on November 6 (Sunday).
The 5 km running event will take place at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) site from 7.30 am to 12.00 noon with a target of 800 participants.
Citing a statement from KUPTM KL, the main purpose of this program is to meet the criteria of academic requirements in addition to completing the final year project course plan assignments that have been prepared by the institution before students undergo industrial training.
“In addition, it is held as a sign of support for the struggle of cancer patients as well as helping to increase public awareness and sensitivity to this disease in Malaysia,” explained the statement.
In addition to raising awareness about cancer, this program which is open to the public also collaborates with the ‘Car Free Day’ event organized by MBPJ and will present a variety of interesting activities including car booth sales, buskin, traditional game competitions. Fun fair; colouring competition; bicycle rental; free health screenings and more.
More interestingly, participants do not need to make any registration fee and will be given a t-shirt, a medal and a chance to win a lucky draw.

It is understood that the DashHero Run 2022 will be officiated by the Mayor of Petaling Jaya, Mohamad Azhan Md Amir and will be attended by various parties such as the National Cancer Council (MAKNA), KUPTM and several sponsors of this event.
