Konvoi Kembara Merdeka Keluarga Malaysia 2022 arrives in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR: After 19 days of traveling throughout Malaysia, the 2022 Malaysian Family Independence Day (KMKM) convoy finally arrived in the nation’s capital as its final destination with an arrival celebration taking place at the Special Science Campus Teacher Education Institute, Bandar Tun Razak, here at about 4.00pm .

The arrival of the convoy participants who rode in 41 vehicles of various types including the K16 motorcycle club with 62 participants was welcomed by the Deputy Foreign Minister and Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar and Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Information Director Lim Ann Teck.

Kamarudin in his speech said the government gave freedom or permission to use social media which is now the main medium of interaction of the young generation to be used to spread good and accurate information.

“Therefore, I call on the younger generation or the successor generation to think carefully in every action so that the blessing of independence that we enjoyed in the past continues forever and is not destroyed as a result of our actions and actions.

“Freedom is not only free from the grip of colonialism physically, but it is necessary to free the soul and mind in forming a strong identity so as not to be influenced by external propaganda that can fade the spirit of love for the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lim said the celebration of KMKM at the Kuala Lumpur level started on Thursday with the convoy of participants traveling from Negeri Sembilan stopping at Petronas Technology Park, Sungai Besi and then to the Special Science Campus Teacher Education Institute to celebrate the celebration of National Month 2022 with educators and students in campus.

“Furthermore, on the last day tomorrow, the KMKM convoy participants will be at several strategic locations including handing out the Jalur Gemilang to the public at Firdouse Restaurant, Jalan Kuching, KL Sentral and will close the traveling curtain at Menara 1 Lobby, Kuala Lumpur City Hall,” he said.

Earlier, Negeri Sembilan KMKM 2022 Convoy Leader who is also Negeri Sembilan Information Director Zaaba Abu Bakar handed over the Jalur Gemilang baton to Lim as a symbol of the start of KMKM for Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
