KKD denied the minister issued a statement related to Puspal guidelines
KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) denied that its Minister Fahmi Fadzil ever issued a statement related to the guidelines of the Central Agency for Filming and Performing Artists Abroad (Puspal), as reported in the media today.
KKD in a statement here today affirmed the Puspal guidelines issued (latest revision) dated 31 Dec 2022, which are available on the ministry’s website, are aimed at simplifying and relaxing the conditions for related parties dealing in filming foreign films and performances by foreign artists .
“In that regard, it is also informed that the Minister of Communications and Digital has never issued any statement related to these guidelines as reported in the media,” according to the statement.
According to the statement, any further information related to the guidelines can be obtained by visiting the KKD website or contacting the Puspal Committee (JK-Puspal) at 03-8911 5356.
The statement was issued following a newspaper report today titled Stricter Rules For Foreign Concerts: A clearer dress code and no performance allowed on religious dates , which among other things quoted Fahmi as saying that the updated guidelines were made to protect the sensitivities of the people of this country after receiving views various parties including Muslims and non-Muslims.
