King Charles III could hardly match the glory of his late mother’s reign

KUALA LUMPUR: The influence of the new King of Britain, King Charles III, is seen as difficult to match the glorious era of the reign of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Economic, Political and International Relations Analyst, Herizal Hazri commented that he sees the situation of Britain’s current administration very differently.

This includes influence in terms of political, financial, military and ideological relationships that His Majesty will highlight.

“Influence here is not necessarily political influence…financial, capital or military influence. But it can also be taken into account the influence in terms of identity and so on. For example, the leader Dalai Lama is very influential but he is not even a country because Tibet is a place whose recognition is still disputed.

“It means you have to understand the influence in many ways. The problem with the United Kingdom today is that they have lost influence in many ways. Not only in terms of military, economic but also in terms of philosophical ideology and so on,” he told Astro AWANI on Saturday.

In the meantime, he thinks that the role of King Charles III to have a more significant impact on more important matters is seen as somewhat limited.

“What they have is tradition and history, which we are seeing today. Of course for the traditional list or people who like to look at the pattern of the ceremony, this is something interesting.

“But what is more relevant today and in the future, whether King Charles III will be able to have a more significant impact on more important matters is somewhat limited.

“Nevertheless, he does not deny the popularity of King Charles III remains intact which is likely to have a significant impact especially in solving global issues, especially related to the environment,” he commented.

Herizal also hopes that the reign of King Charles III will bring great changes in raising and listening to the ideology of leaders and the community, especially from Commonwealth countries.
