PROVIDER of the break dance World Breaking Classic (WBC2023), Mohd Firdaus Nawir, 25, has high hopes for the country’s break dance athletes to join the South East Asia Final in Taiwan on May 14.
According to Firdaus or better known as Sora, the athletes have proven their victory at the WBC2023, and believe in their ability to bring home the SEA Final 2023 gold medal later.
“Among the Malaysian representatives will be Mohd Faridh Yassin (Khenobu), Flexi, Mody, Dylan, and Bubul.
“These names are experienced and won places in several prestigious matches inside and outside the country in the break dance sport.
“So, I really hope that they get a place and make the name of our country proud,” he said.

Earlier, explained Sora, WBC2023 also opened up opportunities to unearth new talents in addition to finding representatives for the 2023 SEA Final.
“We believe there are many young people out there who are interested in this community, but they don’t know where to go to highlight their talents to be known to the public.
“So, we at Jom Battle bring this international level competition to open the eyes of Malaysians that this ‘break dance’ community has grown rapidly and is recognized as a sport in foreign countries,” he said.
For info, WBC2023 was held at Imago Shopping Mall Kota Kinabalu Sabah and sponsored by Sawit Kinabalu, Tourism Sabah Board & Jetsin Sdn Bhd.
