‘Keluarga Bahagia version of Saujana & Siti Nordiana’ – “The arrangement of this song is also very different from the original”
It’s been 26 years since the popular nasyid song, Keluarga Bahagia sung by the Saujana group since it was released in 1997 through their debut album, entitled Saujana.
Even though the years change and times change with the ebb and flow of the popularity of nasyid music, the song Keluarga Bahagia remains on the lips of fans and lovers of the country’s music.
In conjunction with this year’s Ramadan celebration, the song was relaunched with a new version that was given a fresh touch featuring a great collaboration between Saujana and singer, Siti Nordiana.
Representing Saujana, Suffian Amrin said that he was pleased when the team of Siti Nordiana or better known as Nana proposed to them to collaborate.
“Previously, Nana has done a duet with Ustaz Shahrizan through Hasbi Rabbi’s zikr song, so this year Nana and her team plan to do a duet on the Keluarga Bahagia song as well.
“When we were invited, we felt very honored and immediately agreed. The only challenge is in terms of recording the pairing of singers of two genders and the arrangement of this song is also very different from the original.
“This is because it involves two different ‘tones’ of voice. When we agreed to do a duet, we continued recording even though we had to go through recording sessions in three different studios due to schedule differences between us all.
“Alhamdulillah, the song and music video have finally been recorded and will be released this Ramadan. The arrangement of this song was made by Zimi who also acts as a producer.
“The song arrangement is made in a modern way with the ballad music genre. The song’s message about the importance of family life is maintained and the song’s arrangement is made to suit the tastes of today’s listeners,” he said.
Lagu Keluarga Bahagia (2023) was produced by Seventeen Eleven Music recording company with the touch of producer Zimi.
The recording of this song involved four members of Saujana, namely Dr Khairul Idzwan Baharin, 42; Suffian Amrin, 42; Azalinor Abd Rahman, 42; and Ahmad Zuhaidi Abd Aziz, 44.
Meanwhile, Nana admitted that she was nervous waiting for the response from the fans.
“It’s common knowledge that Keluarga Bahagia’s song has its own fans since a long time ago. So, when given a new lease of life, of course I’m nervous to wait for the fans’ response.
“Anyway, I tried my best and sang this song in my own way and style but still kept the originality, the melody of this song,” she said.
