Karnival Semarak UNITI Merdeka sows the spirit of unity
KUALA LUMPUR: Sowing the spirit of unity among the people is one of the goals of the Merdeka Malaysia Teguh UNITI Merdeka Carnival which is scheduled to take place on August 20 at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Unity, Datuk Noridah Abdul Karim said the theme of Malaysia’s Family Strong Together was chosen to celebrate Independence Month, thus increasing patriotism among people of various races.
Noridah explained that her party is confident that the program is capable of nourishing and strengthening the bonds of unity.
“So for our program on Saturday, August 20, in addition to fueling the spirit of unity, we are trying to build various integration sites to bring people from various races together to see the diversity we have. We celebrate that diversity and bridge the differences,” said on Thursday.
Commenting further, Noridah said the ministry will also expand the UNITI Bright Committee to the whole country in an effort to invigorate the spirit of racial diversity.
“Therefore, I am pleased to invite all the citizens of the city to come down together to make the Merdeka Malaysia Strong Family UNITI Merdeka Carnival program a success which will be held on August 20 at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm. At the same time, various interesting events have also been prepared for all Malaysian families,” she said.
The program is the fourth edition after its implementation in Negeri Sembilan and in two locations in Johor.
Among the filling programs are Malaysian Family Cheap Sale, Malaysian Family People’s Feast, Strong Walk Together, Blood Donation, and Uniti Explorace.
