Kareena Kapoor tested positive for COVID-19 after attending the dinner

Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor is currently undergoing quarantine after being confirmed positive for the life-threatening virus, COVID-19.

In the latest development, Kareena has obtained the results of genome sequencing tests to screen for Omicron variants.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation report , the test results proved Kareena negative for the new variant.

“I am COVID-19 positive and have immediately isolated as well as adhered to safety protocols.
“I am requesting an individual who is my close contact to do a screening test. My family and staff have all already received a complete vaccination shot.

“They are not showing any symptoms. Thankfully. I am getting better and hope to stay healthy,” Kareena said in an official statement to the media.

Apart from Kareena, several other celebrities also underwent the same screening test including Amrita Arora, Seema Khan and Maheep Kapoor.

All of them were positive for COVID-19 after attending a party organized by popular director Karan Johar recently.

Karan also issued an official statement explaining that he was not organizing the party but only had dinner with close individuals.

“My family has gotten a complete vaccine and done an RTPCR test, everything is negative.

“In fact, I myself have undergone the test twice to make sure everything is safe and the results are also negative.

“Only eight people I invited to my house, it was not a party and we continued to adhere to security protocols. We all continued to wear face masks at all times,” he said.

To date a total of 350 cases involving Omicron variants have been reported in Delhi and Mumbai, India.
