LAMPUNG: The Lampung Football Supporters Association gathered in a final tribute event to commemorate the victims of the tragedy at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, last night.
Citing a Kompas report , the event started with a candle lighting at the entrance of the Badak Lampung Youth Oath Stadium, PKOR Way Halim Complex, Bandar Lampung.
In the meantime, dozens of football fans came dressed in black with black ribbons tied on their arms as a sign of commemorating all the victims.
The atmosphere increased when the supporters sang several songs including Indonesia Pusaka and Mars Aremani a.
Meanwhile, the supporters present also recited a prayer for the victims who died.
Representative of the Lampung Supporters’ Alliance, Wiryo Saputro informed that the Aremania supporters chant was sung as a sign of commemorating all the victims.
“We supporters from Lampung are very saddened by this incident. This is a tragedy for the world of football in Indonesia,” said Wiryo, last night.
He added in a low tone, this event is a blow to the world of Indonesian football.
At the same time, Wiryo hopes that this incident will not happen again and should be used as a lesson among football supporters.
It is understood that 125 people died after a commotion occurred at Malang’s Kanjuruhan Stadium during Arema FC’s football match against Persebaya Surabaya on Saturday night.
