Judge Confirms May 5 Start for Diddy Trial, Rejects Defense’s Bid for Delay
NEW YORK, April 21 – The sexual assault trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs will begin on May 5 as originally scheduled, after a federal judge dismissed a request from the defense team to postpone the proceedings.
Presiding Judge Arun Subramanian said during a court session in Manhattan that the defense had been allotted adequate time to prepare for trial. The case is expected to unfold over eight to ten weeks.
The judge also cautioned both parties that he would not permit any aimless searches for supplementary evidence, stressing the need for procedural efficiency.
Combs faces several lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct dating back more than two decades. The alleged incidents occurred in New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Combs has denied all allegations made against him.
