LOS ANGELES: Activist and veteran actress Jane Fonda revealed that she has cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
In a post on his Instagram account, the 84-year-old actor informed that she has non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma).
She said this cancer is treatable and feels very lucky to have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments.
The Hollywood icon also highlighted the state of the health system in the United States and said she would continue her efforts in raising awareness about climate change.
“I know it hurts a lot but I’m lucky in this situation.
“Nearly every family in the United States has faced cancer in their lifetime, yet did not have the access to quality health care that I have, and this should not happen,” she said.
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a rare cancer where it targets the lymphatic system, which is the circulatory system made up of a network of vessels called lymphatic vessels.
Fonda said she will undergo chemotherapy for six months and that it will not affect efforts to raise awareness about climate change.
