Jaja Ishak has no problem continuing to work with Hafidz Roshdi
Drama producer Jaja Ishak has no problem continuing to work with actors linked to previous domestic controversies such as Hafidz Roshdi.
Jaja, who has worked with Hafidz twice, said that he had to consider the decision of the television station every time the name of the cast list was proposed for a drama.
“He has acted twice with me, but now there is no need for me to call him. But, if there is a suitable character and an approved television station , I am fine. I have no problem with him,” he said simply.
Jaja when met at an iftar ceremony with the media at the Royal Kuala Lumpur Hotel recently admitted that Hafidz had a good attitude throughout working with him.
“He had a shoot with me last year and there was no problem, many people are comfortable working with him. Maybe that is his personal problem, I don’t dare to interfere.
“His call time is good, he is disciplined and he can talk. Even when shooting during the PKP period, he was very cooperative. The price was also very good,” added Jaja.
When asked about the risk of hiring problematic actors on drama sets to the point of disrupting ratings, Jaja replied that it was subjective.
“That’s subjective, our viewers say they want to tell stories like this, but in the end they also see the stories of rich people’s children, big houses. We’re tired of stories from the end of the village,” he commented.
Hafidz or his real name, Muhammad Hafidz Roshdi previously pleaded not guilty to the charge of injuring his wife, Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri at the Sungai Buaya Toll Plaza exit, at 3.30am on March 2.
Based on the charges, the actor was charged with intentionally causing injury to Nurul Shuhada, 29, by punching her with her hands three times until the victim suffered cuts, bruises and swelling on her left cheek.
Hafidz and Nurul Shuhada got married on 30 April 2016 and were blessed with two children, Humairah, 6, and Umar, 2.
In the same development, the Kuala Kubu Bharu Magistrate’s Court ordered that Hafidz be sent to Bahagia Hospital to undergo psychiatric treatment.
