
Ismail Sabri and the people of Kelantan enlivened the “Bekwoh” of the Malaysian Family
KOTA BHARU: More than 5,000 people came together to enliven the “Bekwoh” program or large-scale feast attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today in conjunction with the Kelantan Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour (AKM).
A special dish of cauldron meat goulash, turmeric fried chicken, tilapia cooked in sambal, pickled cucumber and white rice welcomed the arrival of the Prime Minister to the state of Cik Siti Wan Kembang at the “bekwoh” program.
Before eating, Ismail Sabri who arrived at 12.20 noon at Yayasan Kemiskinan Kelantan (YKK) Ketereh, accompanied by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Annuar Musa who is also the coordinator of the Kelantan AKM Tour, also took the opportunity together with the people of Kelantan to cook goulash .
Among those present were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Chief Secretary Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali and Kelantan State Works, Infrastructure, Transport and Utilities Committee Chairman Datuk Azami Mohd Nor.
Shortly before that, Ismail Sabri officiated the pre-launch of the Ketereh Digital Hub and 5G technology, which aims to empower local entrepreneurs and optimize online sales.
After the session, he went to the YKK main hall and was entertained by a silat performance before spending time entertaining guests among the locals in a tent that housed 11 cauldrons filled with cauldron meat goulash.
Ismail Sabri and guests were also entertained by several singing performances from PENTARAMA under the Malaysian Information Department.
Ismail Sabri spent more than an hour and was friendly, shook hands and took selfies with the people of Kelantan before leaving the ceremony at about 1.40 in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, a resident of Kok Lanas, Siti Hamnah Abdullah, 59, when met by Bernama expressed her excitement to meet the country’s number one leader at the program.
“Before this I heard from a friend that there was an invitation to this “bekwoh” program, I also agreed to come because I was excited to meet the number one leader in Malaysia face to face and was happy to be able to take a selfie with the Prime Minister,” he said.
Apart from being happy with the presence of the Prime Minister and several other ministers, Nur Hisham Mahmud, 42, from Telipot here said the “bekwoh” program of the Ketereh Parliament Family was very good because it strengthened friendships.
“I came here with family members around 10 am because I was excited to meet the Prime Minister. It was great to meet him face to face,” he said adding that the food served was also very appetizing.
AKM Kelantan, which is themed Keluarga Malaysia Keluarga Digital opened yesterday until tomorrow, will benefit the Malaysian Keluarga in this state with various programs for the people and digitization in line with the government’s desire to strengthen the country’s digitization.
