Internet line sharing problem solved after June – Fahmi Fadzil

KUALA LUMPUR: The internet sharing problem faced by users across the country is expected to be resolved on or after June.

Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil informed that the ministry will solve this ‘ network sharing ‘ problem in phases.

“The ministry will go through several phases. Currently, the Prime Minister has also instructed the Ministry of Communications and Digital to hold a ‘ review ‘ of the implementation of the 5G fast internet network, so that is our focus until it is completed.

“At the same time, the Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) has held a series of discussions with telecommunication companies and has identified a way for us to find the gap and solve the internet problem among telecommunication companies,” he said at a press conference after the People’s Housing Program Unity Package Program PPR/PA @Mykabel at PPR Kerinchi on Friday.

Fahmi added, the ministry has also held a series of discussions with the telecommunications companies involved.

According to him, the 4G internet access network throughout the country has reached 96.92 percent of populated areas, but that does not mean that all telecommunication companies have the same access.

According to Fahmi, more than 60 percent of areas in Kuala Lumpur have broadband coverage facilities so far.
