Ilham Seni@Kampar: Mural works cheer up the wall of the back hallway

KAMPAR: The murals that decorate the walls of old buildings on Jalan Gopeng-Kampar, here, have the potential to become another new attraction for visitors.

Not only focused on the uniqueness of the mural, but each work there is also equipped with a scan of a quick response (QR) code, which tells the meaning behind the artwork.

The mural project called Ilham Seni@Kampar was launched last year and is a continuation of the Jom Warnakan Bandar@Kampar program in 2018.

According to the chairman of the state’s Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee, Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi, the mural aims to brighten up the back alleys that seemed abandoned before.

In addition, she said, the presence of paintings and bright colors in the alley is expected to be able to preserve and revive the old town area.

“The idea of Ilham Seni@Kampar came about as a result of the continuation of the Let’s Color Bandar@Kampar 2.0 program by the Kampar District Council since 2018.

“The work of the program includes painting several blocks of buildings on Jalan Gopeng-Kampar with orange and white colors and upgrading the back alleys of the buildings involved,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Nolee Ashilin said this while speaking at the Kampar Tourism Logo Launch Ceremony & Ilham Seni@Kampar Inauguration, here on Tuesday.

Also present was the Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Perak, Nurmalis Musa.

In the meantime, Nolee Ashilin added, the mural is motivated by tradition, culture, history and nature.

“It was completely completed by local painters through the cooperation of the Perak Painters Association.

“The implementation of this mural painting work has taken eight weeks from 21 December 2020 until 16 February 2021, through allocations from the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN),” she added.

Earlier in the program, she also completed the Kampar Tourism Logo Launch Ceremony.

It is the highlight of the beYoutiful@Kampar tourism event program that lasts for three days from September 24 to 26.

The program for 3 days and 2 nights aims to bring influencers to visit tourist areas in Kampar district in an effort to promote them online.
