Iftar ceremony at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, London

LONDON: About 450 people gathered at the Royal Albert Hall, London on Friday in conjunction with an open iftar ceremony — a community event during the month of Ramadan.

The iftar ceremony was organized by the Ramadan Tent Project, a charity established in 2013, Anadolu Agency reported.

Speaking before the iftar meal, Turkish Ambassador to the United Kingdom Osman Koray Ertas, touched on the importance of Ramadan in strengthening human relations.

Jonathan Wilson, a professor at Regent’s University London, praised the open iftar, saying the gathering was an excellent opportunity to meet people and share experiences.

Meanwhile, Dowshan Humzah, Member of the Advisory Board of the Ramadan Tent Project, said the project can strengthen human relationships.
