“I need to drink 2 cups of coffee before…” – Atikah Suhaime
Actress Atikah Suhaime revealed that she had to drink two cups of coffee before playing the role of Sharifah Azreen in the popular drama If Itu Takdirnya by Siti Rosmizah.
Atikah explained that it was due to the extraordinary energy of the character involved which needed to be channeled in every scene of his acting.
“In order to keep up with Azreen’s energy, I have to drink two cups of coffee every time I want to act as her (Azreen).
“But to be honest, I enjoyed playing the role of Azreen.
“Azreen is young and has a lot of energy. I’m also kind of an introvert, so when I want to play the character of Azreen, I have to be extroverted and vavavoom.
“Azreen is someone who just plays and talks. Very extra and over. Playing this character, I need a lot of energy for every scene,” shared Atikah.
Commenting further on Azreen’s character, Atikah said in If It Was Fate, the woman involved was very obsessed with Azril.
“She is so in love with Azril that she is blind to what is right and what is wrong. There are some scenes that people would not expect Azreen to do that.
“Behind Azreen’s cheerful smile, there must be a plan in mind. She is an unpredictable person. Sometimes even reading the script I will think to myself ‘what is in Azreen’s mind?’,” he added.
The unique thing about Azreen’s character is that Atikah said she took inspiration from the popular Hollywood character, Marilyn Monroe.
“Azreen has charm and she is a classy person. I took inspiration from Marilyn Monroe to bring Azreen’s character to life.
“In addition, there are a few funny elements in the character as well,” she said.
