Her Majesty is pleased to visit Gardens by the Bay
SINGAPORE: Her Majesty the Queen Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandaria has agreed to visit the Gardens by the Bay, here tonight.
The visit is one of the programs in the four-day state visit to the republic that starts today until Oct 28. Earlier, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong arrived safely in Singapore at approximately 10.50 am.
Tunku Azizah left to arrive at the iconic place at about 8pm and was also accompanied by her daughter, Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafizatullah.
Her Majesty’s arrival was welcomed by Gardens by the Bay, namely Deputy Chief Executive Officer Lee Kok Fatt; Senior Director (Attraction Operations) Addison Goh and Senior Assistant Director (Conservatory Operations) Marziah Omar.
Her Majesty agreed to spend almost two hours at several visitor attractions at Gardens by the Bay including the Flower Dome which is filled with various species of flowers and plants from the western part of South Africa, Western Australia, the coastal plateau in South America, the west coast of North America and Mediterranean Basin.
Her Majesty also agreed to be friendly with Malaysians and take pictures with international tourists who visited the park located in the center of the city of Singapore.
Gardens by the Bay is a garden with a horticultural exhibition that presents plants in a unique way to local and international tourists.
The national park, which was developed in 2007, also aims to educate visitors about plants that are rarely known to the public such as plant species in cold and temperate climates in tropical forests.
Gardens by the Bay has received various awards including World Building of the Year in 2012, Largest Greenhouse (Flower Dome) through Guinness World Records in 2015 and TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence in 2016.
