Hellbound Season 2: new faces Kim Sung-cheol, Yang Dong-geun join returning cast
Im Seong-jae and more to star in the Netflix hit show too
FOLLOWING the resurrections of Park Jung-ja and Jung Jin-su at the end of the first season, Hellbound has unveiled its new cast lineup for Season 2.
The Netflix series, which revolves around supernatural events caused by otherworldly beings condemning individuals to hell that enabled the rise of religious group The New Truth, is set to pick up where it left off from Season 1’s cliffhanger.
Kim Hyun-joo returns as Min Hye-jin, the attorney fighting against The New Truth and the Arrowhead cult that worships Jung Jin-su (portrayed by Kim Sung-cheol), the first leader of The New Truth who hid his own condemnation to hell to protect their doctrine.
Kim Shin-rock, Lee Dong-hee, Yang Ik-june, and Lee Re will reprise their roles as Park Jung-ja, Kim Jeong-chil, Jin Kyung-hun, and Jin Hee-jung respectively to unveil the untold stories of those in the centre of the chaos.
Season 2 will also introduce new characters leading to new narratives — Yang Dong-geun is set to play a leader of law firm-turned-asylum organisation Sodo, while Im Seong-jae will portray a member of Sodo who has lost a loved one to the Executors.
Cho Dong-in joins the cast as the Arrowhead leader alongside Moon Geun-young, who will be making a special appearance.
The Netflix series Hellbound is based on the legendary webtoon series ‘Hellbound’ from Choi Gyu-seok of ‘Songgot’ and Yeon Sang-ho of Train to Busan and Peninsula.
This captivating series delves into the unconventional topic of condemnation to hell, raising profound questions about life and death, crime and punishment, and autonomy and coercion. Its thought-provoking narrative has received critical and public acclaim.
The first season of Hellbound is now streaming on Netflix.
