ACTOR Jeremy Renner, who played the role of Hawkeye in the Marvel film series ‘Avengers’, is now recovering.

Renner was hospitalized in Nevada, United States (US) on Sunday, after suffering serious injuries while clearing snow.

The photo was taken from his hospital bed, showing several bruises on his face and an oxygen tube inserted into his nose.

“Thank you for all the words.

“I am still receiving treatment but I want to convey my love to everyone,” he wrote.

On Monday, the actor’s representative announced that Renner was in critical but stable condition following the injury he suffered on New Year’s Day.

He said Renner, 51 years old, suffered chest injuries and other orthopedic injuries.

At the time of the incident, areas in northern Nevada received heavy snow.

According to the Reno Gazette Journal , Renner has a home in Washoe County and the National Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for New Year’s Eve.

In a press conference Tuesday, County Sheriff Darin Balaam said Renner was struck by a self-propelled snowplow after using it to remove his vehicle from a snowbank.

He explained that the PistenBully brand snow plow weighs more than 6 tons.

“In an effort to stop the PistenBully, Renner tried to enter his vehicle through the passenger door but did not have time and was crushed,” he explained, adding that no treachery was suspected.

Renner was nominated in the Oscar Award for Best Actor in the movie ‘The Hurt Locker’.

After his success in ‘The Hurt Locker’, Renner appeared in several Marvel projects as well as two ‘Mission: Impossible’ films in addition to starring in ‘Arrival’ and ‘American Hustle,’ among others.
