Harry Styles broke the record, As It Was remained the longest on the Billboard Hot 100 chart

LOS ANGELES: United Kingdom-born singer Harry Styles broke records after his single As It Was topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the longest time.

Citing a BBC report , the single As It Was topped the chart for 15 weeks, breaking the record held by Mark Ronson and Sir Elton John.

Earlier, their hits, Uptown Funk and Candle In The Wind , each topped the chart for 14 weeks.

At the same time, Styles’ acting was also listed in the box office charts in US cinemas through the movie Don’t Worry Darling.

After 15 weeks at the top of the singles chart, As It Was ranks as the fourth longest-running single in the history of the US singles chart.

Old Town Road by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus holds the overall record for 19 weeks. Despacito by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber and One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, held the record for 16 weeks.

Meanwhile, As It Was occupied first place for 10 weeks on the United Kingdom chart between April and June.
