GE15: Zul Huzaimy’s controversial statement does not represent Pas – Sanusi’s position
IPOH: Homeland celebrity Zul Huzaimy’s controversial statement through a video recording at a program believed to be organized by PAS in Terengganu recently, does not represent the party’s stance.
PAS Elections Director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said that the statement cannot be judged as representing the party because the celebrities in question are not among the leadership or members of the party.
“He is neither a leader nor a Pas member. If he wants to sabotage us, he goes to our program and he says so, then blame Pas. It can’t be, because he doesn’t represent Pas.
“I don’t even dare to speak on behalf of PAS. Only the president, secretary general can do that. I can only speak in my field which is elections, that’s all,” he said.
He said this when met by reporters after the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Best Tambun Tour program in Meru Raya near here, last night.
It was also attended by PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PN Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Perak Pas Commissioner Razman Zakaria.
Muhammad Sanusi was previously asked to comment on Zul Huzaimy’s controversial and allegedly racist statement.
The Remp-it actor’s statement was made through a 44-second viral video recorded in a program in Kemaman on Nov 4.
In the meantime, Muhammad Sanusi, who is also the Chief Minister of Kedah, described the actor’s statement as dangerous, as well as giving a bad impression to the PAS government.
“In Kelantan, PAS has ruled for 32 years. Nothing happened, in fact everyone lives peacefully. Don’t force people to convert to Islam, we don’t force circumcision either,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Faizal who was met also said that he personally could not accept the statement issued by the actor.
“We as a PN party that covers various races, we respect religious life and we should celebrate the differences that exist. And that matter must be an obligation for all Malaysians to defend,” he stressed.
In the same development, Zul Huzaimy sent a video uploaded on his Instagram page apologizing for a speech that was allegedly misunderstood, causing various reactions from netizens.
He said, the viral video needs to be watched in full to understand the true meaning of his statement on the program.
“I am not too extreme to like to fight with people. I am also friends with Indians, Singhs and Chinese, even my late aunt is also Chinese.
“What I mean is when there are some parties who heat up the situation by hating Islam, the official religion of the country. That’s what I mean.
“It is hoped that this matter will not be sensationalized as ‘ hate speech ‘ mixed with racism,” he explained.
