Fixed Broadband Unity Package is worth it, lighten the burden of the target group
KUALA LUMPUR: Worth it! That’s the reaction of most of the target groups, including the B40 Group, veterans, people with disabilities (OKU) and the elderly who will enjoy the Fixed Broadband Unity Package offered starting this March.
In line with the government’s commitment to lower the cost of living for the people, the service is provided with a speed of 30 Mbps with unlimited data for only RM69 per month and a 24-month subscription contract.
The price of the package offered is 22 percent cheaper than the current price of the package with the same specifications which is around RM89, thus allowing the people to enjoy savings of RM480 throughout the contract period.
In MELAKA, part-time tuition teacher Ruhaila Ismail, 34, said the package would make it easier for her to hold extra classes online.
“Most importantly, the price and the unlimited data offered are very worthwhile. So I don’t have to worry about running out of data when teaching and looking for information for my teaching sessions,” he said .
In KEDAH, the President of the Kedah Consumer Association (CAKE) Mohamad Yusrizal Yusof welcomed the implementation of the package because it can ease the burden of the less able to participate in enjoying the internet facilities.
“It is certain that we agree and welcome the package that was announced because it is a necessity because nowadays, everyone needs an internet connection to do daily business such as paying bills or doing business at related agencies,” he said.
For private worker Ahmad Mukhsein Mukhtar, 24, thinks the package offered by the government is worthwhile for the less able who can save RM20 a month compared to the original cost of RM89 a month.
In PENANG, online trader Norhasnida Adnan, 42, said the package could save her family’s internet costs every month, and she herself was able to advertise with more product photos on social media.
“Every month my family and I might pay more than RM100 for internet data, but with this package we will save a lot, even the children at school can also use the same data…it seems easier because the speed is higher,” he said, who has three children. eight to 15 years old.
In PAHANG, government retiree Razali Kasim, 65, said the initiative was implemented to prove that the government is aware of the needs of the people today who really need internet access in their daily lives.
He said the unlimited data offer with a payment of RM69 per month would benefit users from various backgrounds, especially the B40 group.
“It’s a good package for the people, because we all know that paying phone and internet bills is not cheap now and it’s a necessity for everyone,” he said, who lives in Kuantan.
Meanwhile in TERENGGANU, the introduction of the package is good news for a single mother Rabiatul Adawiyah Zakaria, 38, from Flat Kondo Rakyat Kuala Ibai who has long been interested in subscribing to a fixed internet service for her two children’s home schooling.
She said the pre-paid internet line service charge used now is quite expensive which is about RM150 per month and that is considered a burden on him who works as a restaurant assistant.
